Agreement
These terms govern your use of InTheBlk, a service operated by In The BLK LLC. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What InTheBlk Is
InTheBlk is a tool for organising and understanding your own financial information: viewing linked accounts and transactions, categorising and reviewing them, budgeting, and preparing information for tax filing.
InTheBlk does not provide investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and it does not move money. Figures such as suggested tax set-asides are planning estimates, not calculations of amounts owed. Consult a qualified professional before acting on them.
Your Account
- You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and to use the financial accounts you connect.
- Keep your sign-in credentials secure and turn on two-step verification. Connecting a bank requires it.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly through Support if you believe it has been compromised.
Connecting Financial Accounts
Bank connections are made through Plaid. By connecting an account you authorise InTheBlk and Plaid to retrieve information from that institution for the features you use, and you agree to Plaid's end-user terms presented during connection. InTheBlk never receives your online-banking password.
Balances shown in InTheBlk are the most recent values your institution has provided and are labelled with when they were last updated. They may not reflect very recent activity.
Acceptable Use
- Use InTheBlk only for your own information or information you are authorised to manage.
- Do not attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass its security controls.
- Do not use the service for unlawful purposes.
Your Data
You keep ownership of your information. We process it as described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect banks, delete your financial data, or delete your account at any time from Profile › Privacy & Data, as described on the Your Data Rights page.
Availability and Changes
We work to keep InTheBlk available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that data received from third parties is complete or error-free. We may change or discontinue features, and may update these terms; material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page before they take effect.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, InTheBlk is provided "as is", and In The BLK LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for decisions made on the basis of information shown in the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending Use
You may stop using InTheBlk and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms or to protect the service or other users.
